Try a variety of drinks at our bar "Calvados" on the 1st floor

Opening hours of the bar: around the clock

We gladly welcome you to the bar "Calvados", which is located on the ground floor. In summer you can enjoy the atmosphere of our terrace, which opens onto one of the busiest squares in Old Riga - Līvu Square. We offer coffee, tea, carefully selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks and the best selection of calvados and ciders in Riga.

Calvados is an apple or pear brandy. It is produced in France, in certain areas of Normandy. The strength of the drink is about 40%. Calvados differs from cognac and armagnac primarily with its source material – it is made from cider, while cognac and armagnac are produced by distilling grape wine. Unlike wine, which can be made from only one grape variety, calvados requires a professional selection of different varieties of apples – usually from 20 to 40 species. Proper mixing allows it to maintain the same taste for many years, regardless of the annual variations in the quality of apples and pears. After distillation of the cider, calvados is aged in oak barrels for at least two years. As a result it obtains the colour and various shades of aromas that have made it famous throughout the world.

À votre santé! Cheers!
